The Cyprus Rock Climbing Festival (CRCF) is currently in the process of being formally established as a non-governmental, non-profit organisation (NGO), marking an important step in its evolution from an annual event into a long-term contributor to the development of climbing in Cyprus.
The creation of the CRCF NGO reflects a commitment to sustainability, transparency, and community impact. Its purpose extends beyond organising the annual festival, aiming to actively support and grow the climbing ecosystem in Cyprus.
Development of Climbing in Cyprus
Supporting the growth of climbing through events, education, and community engagement.
Route Maintenance & Development (Bolting Fund)
Establishing and managing a dedicated Bolting Fund to maintain existing routes and develop new climbing
opportunities across the island.
Accessibility & Inclusion
Promoting participation in climbing for all, including beginners, families, and people with disabilities,
through structured programs and partnerships, including EU-funded initiatives.
Education & Safety
Organising workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to promote safe and responsible
climbing practices.
Community Building
Strengthening the local and international climbing community by creating meaningful experiences and
connections through CRCF and related initiatives.
The transition to an NGO ensures that CRCF is not only an event, but a sustainable platform with lasting impact one that reinvests into the sport, the community, and the natural environments that make climbing in Cyprus unique.
